Our Safeguarding Commitment

Children have a right to be cared for and protected. Safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility.

Across our federation, safeguarding and the welfare of our children are our highest priority. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued, listened to and able to thrive.

We recognise that our children are very young and that some may not yet have the language, confidence or understanding to tell an adult when something is wrong. We therefore maintain a culture of vigilance where staff understand that “it could happen here”, know our children well and act promptly when they have a concern.

We believe that:

  • every child has the right to be protected from harm;

  • children learn and thrive when they feel safe, happy and supported;

  • every child should know that there are trusted adults who will listen to them and help them;

  • concerns should be identified early so that children and families receive the right help at the right time; and

  • safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

Every child is known. Every concern matters. Every adult takes responsibility for keeping children safe.
